Billing never stops at the cap — extra bills go through, are recorded as overage and are not charged for; the app tells you so you can move up when it suits you. Menu items, staff logins, tables and floors are firm: at the cap, adding another one asks you to upgrade first.

Every plan has an order cap, and it is in the table above rather than in a message you meet at the till. Growth includes 2,000 orders a month, 8 tables and 1 floor. That line is what keeps it at ₹299. Go past the order cap and nothing stops: the bills still go through, the extra ones are recorded as overage and are not charged for, and the app tells you.

What is the best billing software for a small restaurant in India?

There is no single best. What is KOT software?

KOT stands for kitchen order ticket: the slip or screen entry the kitchen cooks from, showing the table or token number, the items, quantities and any instructions. KOT software sends that ticket from the billing phone to a kitchen printer or a kitchen display (KDS) the moment the order is taken, so nothing is shouted across the pass and nothing is cooked twice.

Is restaurant GST 5% or 18%?

Most standalone restaurants in India charge 5% GST on food and beverage service, split as 2.5% CGST and 2.5% SGST, without input tax credit. 18% with input tax credit applies to restaurant service from specified premises, broadly outlets inside hotels above the notified room tariff. Composition-scheme outlets charge no GST on the bill and issue a bill of supply. Confirm your bucket with your CA.

Questions, answered

Which plans include GST tax invoices?
GST-compliant CGST/SGST tax invoices, with HSN per item, are included from Growth (₹299/mo) and above. E-invoice ready (GSP connection required) starts on Pro (₹599/mo): NamastePOS prints e-invoice-format documents but does not file them with the IRP. Starter prints plain invoices and receipts only, with no GST tax fields.
Does it work offline?
Yes. With no internet you can still take orders, print bills and KOTs on a Bluetooth printer paired to the billing phone, and record payments. Orders sync automatically when you're back online. Network printers and the kitchen display screen need a connection and catch up when it returns.
Can I run it on my phone?
Yes. NamastePOS is mobile-first — run the whole restaurant from an Android phone or tablet, no bulky terminal required. The web dashboard works in any browser. An iOS app is coming.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Whichever plan you pick starts with a 7-day free trial — no credit card. Pick Pro and you run Pro for 7 days, with GST tax invoices switched on.
What happens after the 7 days?
Nothing is charged. There is no card on file, so no automatic billing can happen. Your account moves to the free Starter plan and you carry on billing, with the paid features switched off until you choose to upgrade.
Can my staff use their own phones?
Yes. Staff sign in with their own phone number and a PIN, on their own Android phone. Growth includes 5 staff logins and Pro 10; Advanced and Enterprise are unlimited.
Is there a cap on how many orders I can take?
Yes, and it is in the compare table rather than sprung on you later. Growth includes 2,000 orders a month and Pro 4,000; Advanced and Enterprise are unlimited. Billing never stops when you reach the cap: the bills still go through, the extra ones are recorded as overage and are not charged for, and the app tells you so you can move up when it suits. Growth also covers 8 tables on 1 floor and 75 menu items. Those three are firm, so adding a ninth table asks you to upgrade first. That line is what keeps Growth at ₹299.
Can I get my data out?
Yes. Take your data out any time: a full account export is one click on the Billing page on every plan, and scheduled CSV exports of sales, orders and menu data come with Growth and above. There is no lock-in period — stop at the end of any month and take your data with you.
Is there any lock-in contract?
No lock-in. Pricing is all-inclusive with no hidden report paywalls, and you can leave anytime.
